15 Steps to help build and / or reinforce your self-image

Our self-image is way we present ourselves to others. Here are 15 steps or ideas to help build, improve and reinforce your self image.

  1. Identify your strengths and be happy with them.
  2. Accept the aspects about yourself that you cannot change.
  3. Choose to focus on your strengths and not your weaknesses.
  4. Actively work on your weaknesses.
  5. Accept that you do not have to be perfect to be loved and respected.
  6. Break with the past.
  7. Do not judge yourself or your behavior by other people’s standards.
  8. Make sure that the goals and standards you set for yourself are, high but realistic.
  9. Celebrate every small victory and success along the road.
  10. Avoid people who break you down emotionally.
  11. Do not compare yourself to others.
  12. Ask for positive feedback when you need it and then accept it.
  13. At the end of each day, recall what was good and positive.
  14. Take responsibility for your own existence.
  15. Nurture the self-image of others.
